Democracy: an educational urgency

The Pontifical Foundation Gravissimum Educationis, established at the Congregation for Catholic Education, has launched the project «Democracy: an educational urgency in pluricultural and plurireligious contexts». 14 universities in the world are involved: each one, in its context, is carrying out research and training activities, with the aim of informing the democratic practices to the values of peace, solidarity and common good.
On 16-17 September 2019, at the headquarters of the Foundation in the Vatican, an International Seminar was held with the local representatives (about thirty experts, mostly university professors), who discussed the topic and will shared the projects launched. The Seminar is a step of the path to the Global Compact on Education investigating, especially, the relationship between education and democracy.
